The warm welcome I received from the gentleman on reception. It made me feel I was indeed wanted as a guest and not just a source of income for the hotel. Being offered an alternative room on the ground floor rather than the first floor when he saw my mobility issues. The bed was one of the best I have ever slept in; it suited me perfectly but that is a personal taste and others might find it too hard/soft for their liking, but for me it was a big plus.
I asked at reception on check-in for a table outside but that message didn't seem to have got through to the waitresses. More importantly, they hadn't recorded that I had booked half board and hurriedly had to cobble together a "half board" menu.
